I have always enjoyed the crunch of granola, as well as its portability as a healthy snack. However, I don't enjoy the fact that a lot of the ones that are out there are laden with sugar :-( Soooo......
I found an easy way to make my own!
I found an organic granola base with only 9 grams of sugar per a whole cup (most are at least 13 g for a 1/4 to 1/2 cup...yikes.):
Then, since I love almonds, I added a whole 2 oz. bag to the base:
Finally, I added a small box of raisins like this one:
Voila! I mixed it and put it it's own container, like so:
And just to see what 1 cup of it looked like, I measured the mix into a sandwich baggie:
Not a bad amount of my homemade granola for a snack, right? And I feel good about what I have chosen to put into my body ;-) I hope this inspires you to try your hand at making something for yourself if you can't find it elsewhere!
