What has happened to email?

Is it just me, or does it feel as though email is going the way of the dinosaur? In the past year, I have noticed a sharp decline in the number of emails per day that fill my box.( Now, I am talking about personal emails...I still receive my fair share of business ones!) it just doesn't seem as though people are communicating via emails much anymore.

But if email isn't the primary vehicle then what is...Twitter? Facebook? Let me know your thoughts!
